What types of files do you accept for screen printing?
We require vector format artwork (.ai, .eps, .pdf, .cdr, etc.) to print your goods. These files can be created using a variety of software including Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, and Corel Draw. If you only have pixel-based artwork (JPEG, GIF, BMP, etc.) a fee will be assessed for us to convert your files to a useable format.

What types of files do you accept for offset (paper) printing?
A huge number of file types, vector or pixel-based, can be used to create your paper printed materials. However, if your artwork is in pixel format (JPEG, GIF, BMP, etc.) it must have a sufficiently high resolution to ensure a smooth, professional look. 200 ppi (pixels per square inch) or greater is neccessary to create high-quality printed material.

How many colors can I use in my screen printed artwork?
Generally speaking, the more colors printed, the more expensive the printing job. Ideal screen printed artwork contains a small number of colors (5 or 6 at most) with only very simple gradients. These types of files are best described as "illustrations" and are printed using a technique called "spot-color." To create more complex photo-realistic prints, another method known as 4-color process, or CMYK, printing is neccessary. If you have an illustration, save your file in RGB format (a color system using red, green, blue hues to define more complex colors). If your file is photo-realistic and complicated, save your file in CMYK format.
